Designed for seamless integration with other Adobe products, InDesign is changing the standards for magazine cataloque and advertisement publishing. In this hands on course, students will learn the fundamentals of producing high quality content for print and the web.

• Understanding the work area, windows, palettes and tools
• Setting up a new document
• Creating and editing master pages and templates
• Editing and formatting text
• Creating paragraph and character styles
• Managing links and libraries
• Integration with Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and GoLive
• Creating colours, tints, and gradients
• Importing content from Microsoft Office
• Creating functional and editable tables and forms
• Creating web and press ready PDF files

Adobe InDesign CS can be used to create once and use anywhere. This course will focus on advanced publishing techniques including indexing, database integration, and multi-channel publising. Learn how to take and InDesign document and publish to any media including print, the Web, PDA's, e-books and XML.

Course topics include:

• Network Publishing techniques using PDF, XML and XMP
• Creating Interactive Acrobat PDF forms
• Grouping documents and generating book lists
• Generating an index and table of contents
• Advanced clipping paths, transparency and feathering effects
• Advanced typography and formatting
• Preparing files for commercial printing in PDF format
• Creating hyperlinked PDF files
